Climate

Culpeper enjoys a true, yet moderate taste of all of the seasons. As with much of the South, Culpeper has a mild, temperate climate that is ideal for those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. Culpeper has mild winters and warm, humid summers with an average yearly temperature of 56°F. Rainfall is typically well distributed throughout the year with an average of 41 inches annually. The area receives 19 inches of snow in a typical year.

Education

Culpeper County Public Schools are committed to graduating young adults who will be prepared to continue their learning, be competent workers, become good citizens and live productive and fulfilled lives. All schools are fully accredited by the Virginia Department of Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition to Culpeper’s excellent public schools, there are many outstanding private schools in the area. For those who want to pursue advanced education, additional training and enrichment, Culpeper also has many community and four-year colleges within a 90-mile radius.

Healthcare

Culpeper is home to Culpeper Regional Hospital, a full-service 70-bed acute care facility. The hospital works with more than 85 skilled physicians and almost 600 medical support staff. CRH has Cardiovascular and Cancer Centers, 24-hour Emergency Room services, a Family Birth Center, FamilyCare Home Health and Hospice, Rehabilitative Services both inpatient and outpatient, on-site laboratory, and pharmacy.

There are a number of public and private clubs, fitness centers and recreational programs throughout Culpeper. The Culpeper County Parks and Recreation Department offers year-round programs for children and adults. Transportation

The Culpeper County Regional Airport offers a variety of services for private, business, and corporate aircraft. Four major airports are within 100 miles of Culpeper: Washington-Dulles International, Richmond International, Charlottesville-Albemarle and Reagan National. Two Amtrak lines serve Culpeper. The Culpeper Connector is a public transportation provider serving local residential and business destinations with two handicapped accessible trolleys.
